The sleeping giant that has refused to rumble to life that has spurned all known laws of natural success.

What a giant of a continent, what a regional leader.

Its only in Nigeria that someone lost an election in his state of origin, and lost in the state he governed for 8 years and was senator for 2 years, an Emilokan and Jagaban for years.

He lost the election in the federal capital, lost in the state of his party chairman, lost in the state of the ruling president a leader of his party, lost in the state of his  campaign DG, lost in the state of the secretary to the government, lost in the state of the senate president who is also a party leader, lost the major political block states of Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina but he was still managed to be declared the winner of the election.

What a country of our founding fathers, a country where the electoral umpire promised to transmit results electronically but did it manually and are now challenging everyone to defend the winner.

What a motherland, that a state resident electoral commissioner will announced a result meant to be announced by a returning officer while sitting with the state police commissioner and he was beaten blue black, stripped naked in broad daylight and all the electoral boss could do was to suspend him, while the police IG removed the commissioner after pressure.

Some are very proud of what is going on because their kinsman was declared president elect, while others are ready to defend their religion to the last as far as they are in power, but for some of us, we are ashamed of this great geographical entity that should be leading from the front but are dragging the continent and the black race back.

MAY GOD RESCUE THIS GIFTED AND ENDOWED LAND

There are about 4600 institutions of higher education in the US. 2709 of these schools offer both undergraduate degrees and professional majors. The undergraduate degree is typically four years and five years and five years professional majors. Most master’s program runfor about 18-24 months while doctoral degree takes three to five years.

Depending on the institution (public or private) and the program of chioce, tuition and fees range between $20,000 and $70,000.

A minimum of five credit to include Math and English in WAEC, and NECO or GCE

Financial aid in the U.S is limited, highly competitive and usually merit based. However there is core funding at the graduate level than at the undergraduate level. To compete favourable for financial aid, a student should have at least a 6-8 A’s in WAEC or Second Class Upper Division, not less than 33 on the ACT and 1450 in SAT, 310 in GRE and minimum of 100 in TOEFL. The availability of financial aid is also largely determined by the field of study. There is more funding for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics than in the Humanities and little or no funding for Health, Business and Management programs. Similarly, there are more funding opportunities for PhD than Masters.
