Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have booked their place into the quarter-finals of the 2023 U-17 AFCON after defeating South Africa 3-2 in their final Group B game on Saturday.

The Eaglets had to come from behind twice before eventually bagging the winner to go through.

With the victory they finish second on six points while Morocco claimed first place.

Despite the defeat South Africa can still advance into the last eight as one of the third best placed team.

In Group B’s other game Morocco lost 2-1 to Zambia who are bottom.

South Africa took the lead in the sixth minute through Vicky Mkhawana.

In the 33rd minute Charles Agada equalised for the Golden Eaglets but Siyabonga Mabena put South Africa 2-1 ahead on 45 minutes.

Just two minutes into the second half the Eaglets drew level through Light Eke.

And in the 63rd minute Abubakar Abdullahi got what proved to be the winner for the Eaglets.

Lampard Becomes 1st Chelsea Manager To Lose First Four Games In Charge

Frank Lampard on Tuesday night, became the first Chelsea manager in the club’s 118-year history to lose his first four matches in charge.

Lampard returned to Stamford Bridge on April 6 on an interim basis until the end of the season following Graham Potter’s sack.

However, his return has not gone to plan, as there is no new manager bounce so far.

In his first game back, the Blues lost 1-0 at Wolves in the Premier League.

This was followed by a 2-0 defeat by Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

Last weekend Chelsea lost 2-1 at home to Brighton in the league.

They were then eliminated from the Champions League with another 2-0 loss to Real Madrid.

Their next fixture is against Brentford in the Premier League.

Chelsea FC has announced that Frank Lampard has been named Caretaker Manager until the end of the season.

The move marks a return to Stamford Bridge for Frank who enjoyed an illustrious playing career with the Blues, winning the Premier League on three occasions and the UEFA Champions League in Munich. He managed the club for 84 games, including guiding us to an FA Cup final.

Co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said:

’We are delighted to welcome Frank back to Stamford Bridge. Frank is a Premier League Hall of Famer and a legend at this club. As we continue our thorough and exhaustive process for a permanent head coach, we want to provide the club and our fans with a clear and stable plan for the remainder of the season.
